Powerful Performance with the Huawei P9

The Huawei P9 might be a compact smartphone with a 5.2″ screen size and a slim waistline of just 7 mm throughout. However, it packs quite a lot of processing power under the hood despite the size suggesting otherwise.

Let’s get started with the basic specifications. The P9 comes with an octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 955 processor that consists of 4 Cortex A53 cores clocked in at 1.8GHz and 4 Cortex A72 cores clocked in at 2.5GHz.

There is 3GB of RAM for breezy multi-tasking as well as a Mali-T880 MP4 GPU for all the high-end graphical goodness.

The Kirin 955 chipset puts up a strong fight against the Snapdragon 820 chipset from Qualcomm. While synthetic benchmarks may put the P9 on top at times and sometimes just a tad bit behind other phones, it doesn’t fail in the most important test, real life performance.

The P9 is able to handle any of the high-end games that we played on it with ease. Both the processing and graphical performance are more than enough to handle the 5.2″ 1080p display that it has.

Also, it is important to mention the fact that while the Kirin 955 is powerful and is great at multi-tasking thanks to 3GB of RAM, it still doesn’t compromise on battery efficiency. As a result, the smartphone has posted a really good battery life with its one charge rating of 16 hours and 3 minutes in our battery test.

Overall, the Huawei P9 is one of the best smartphones that we’ve tested in terms of packing powerful hardware while giving efficient and effective performance.
