This week Samsung, as we had exclusively reported, launched Galaxy A9 Pro (SM-A9100), the company’s latest top-end smartphone in the ‘Galaxy A’ series in India.
The Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro packs a massive 5000mAh battery with support for fast charging. It has a 6-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display, is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 652 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM nd runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow).
It has a 16-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), 8-megapixel front-facing camera.
The Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro comes in Gold, Black and White colors, is priced at Rs. 32,490 and will be available across India starting 26th September, 2016.
Meanwhile, Samsung in Korea also announced Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016) with S Pen, a new tablet in the Galaxy A series. It introduced Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016). This has almost similar specifications as the Tab A (2016), but this packs comes with S Pen Stylus and features, including translation, quick notes and more that are available in the Galaxy Note7.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016) with S Pen comes in Black and White colors and is priced at 399,000 Won (US$ 355 / Rs. 23,770 approx.) in Korea. No word on the global roll out yet.
Lenovo launched three new 4G VoLTE smartphones – A6600, A6600 Plus and A7700 this week in India. These smartphones run Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) out-of-the-box and are powered by quad-core MediaTek SoCs, and have a 8-megapixel rear camera. Check full specifications here.
The Lenovo A6600 and A6600 Plus come in Matte White and Matte Black colors and starts at Rs. 6999 for A6600 with 1GB RAM and the A6600 Plus with 2GB RAM is priced at Rs. 7749. Both the variants will be available at retail stores starting mid-September. The Lenovo A7700 also comes in Matte White and Matte Black, is priced at Rs. 8540 and will be available from September-end.
Videocon Mobiles launched Cube 3 (V50JL), the company’s latest 4G smartphone in the new Cube series. It has a 5-inch HD display, is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor, runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow), has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It has dual SIM support and 4G LTE connectivity with support 4G VoLTE (Voice Over LTE).
The Videocon Cube 3 is priced at Rs. 8,490 and will be available from offline stores.
After launching range of TVs in India back in July, TCL this week launched L55P1US, its latest 4K Ultra HD Smart LED TV in the country in the P1 series. It features 55-inch (3840 x 2160 pixels) 4K panel screen with 178-degree viewing angle. Also, it packs a 1.5GHz Mstar MS68A quad-core 64-bit processor with 1.5GB RAM and 8GB internal memory.
The app store powered by the Android OS and the TCL nScreen application lets you use your smartphone or tablet as a remote control. It has Dolby 5.1 surround sound and smart volume, which eliminates unwanted spikes in audio.
The TCL L55P1US 55-inch Ultra HD Smart LED TV is priced at Rs. 48,990 and is available exclusively from Amazon.in.
iBall launched Slide Cuboid, the company’s latest tablet in the Slide series with 4G LTE support and aluminum chassis. It has a 8-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) display, is powered by a 1GHz quad-core processor, runs on Android 5.1 (Lollipop), has a 5-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. It has single SIM support and voice calling capabilities with hands-free.
The iBall Slide Cuboid comes in grey color, is priced at Rs. 8,999 and will be available across India.
Fitbit released a new software update for its Blaze fitness smartwatch which bring a bunch of important features. The company has also rolled out new Special Edition Gold Series for Alta fitness tracker and Blaze fitness smartwatch. Check full details here.

An individual gold frame and tapered, slim black or pink accessory fitness band for the Blaze is priced at Rs. 9,999. Vu Technologies, California-based luxury TV company today launched four new 4K Smart TVs, two of which have Pixelight High Dynamic Range (HDR) Technology and come in 65-inch and 75-inch sizes. The other two are 55-inch and 65-inch 4K Luxury Curved Smart LED TVs.
The 75-inch HDR TV also supports 3D. The 4K HDR TVs run Opera OS, have 4 HDMI ports, 3 USB ports (1 x USB3.0) + (2 x USB2.0), Ethernet port, dual-band 802.11ac and have Netflix and YouTube shortcut button on Remote.

HP introduced Pavilion Wave and Elite Slice desktop PCs with Windows 10 with compact design with the power of a full-sized desktop, for the home and workplace, earlier this month at IFA. This week, the company launched these in India.
The Pavilion Wave is a triangular PC that looks like a Bluetooth speaker. It comes with dual microphones that enables Cortana with voice integration. Dell this week brought new Windows 10 laptops under the XPS and Inspiron series. The company has unveiled XPS 13 notebook and Inspiron 15 5000 and Inspiron 17 5000.
The XPS 13 notebook sports a borderless “InfinityEdge” display (available in Full HD or Quad HD) and the new 7th Generation Intel Core processors. Powered by Windows 10, it has a 13.3-inch screen in an 11-inch frame. It is constructed with machined aluminum, carbon fiber and Corning Gorilla. The Dell XPS 13 comes in Rose Gold color and will be available at $799. Dell Inspiron 15 and 17 5000 will be available in Sparkling white, Midnight Blue, Fog Night, Matte Gray, Black, Bali Blue, Tango Red, Cosmic Purple colors and is priced at $549.99. All the three laptops will be available starting October 4.
Leica introduced its first instant camera dubbed Leica Sofort. It has a design that is both simple and sophisticated at the same time. The accentuated design is reminiscent of the other Leica cameras and is available in three different colours – White, Mint and Orange.
The lens is a 60mm fixed focal length (34mm equivalent) and also has an aperture of f12.7. Users can choose from different modes such as Automatic, Selfie, People & Party, Action & Sport, Bulb, Macro, Self-Timer, and Double Exposure.
