Alongside the Honor 8, the company also introduced a new handset in the entry level segment. Called the Holly 3, the phone caters to the sub Rs. 10,000 market which makes for the bulk of sales in India. Here’s our quick impressions of the phone as well as a photo gallery for your perusal.,

The front of the Holly 3 sports a 5.5 inch 720p panel. This is an IPS panel but owing to the relatively low resolution, icons do seem a bit blurred out from the edges. There are significant bezels all around. The phone comes equipped with an 8MP front facing camera.
The phone makes do with onscreen controls and eschews capacitive buttons below the display. Instead, you get honor branding placed over a rather large lip.
The back of the phone has a somewhat interesting pattern built into it though the plastics used are not of a very high quality. The device feels like it was built to a budget and well, that really is true. The 5.5 inch display accompanied by the large bezels have increased the dimensions of the phone compared to the competition resulting in a phone that is rather uncomfortable to hold.
A 13MP camera is placed at the rear of the phone alongside a single LED flash. You’ll also notice the 3.5mm audio jack placed at the top of the hardware.
Removing the back cover of the Holly 3 reveals the sealed 3100mAh battery alongside the microSD card slot as well as the dual SIM card slots.
The Holly 3 runs on a 1.2 GHz Octa-Core Kirin 620 processor with Mali 450 GPU. This is paird with 2GB RAM, 16GB internal memory. As we mentioned above, there’s a microSD card slot over at the back and you can expand storage by up to 128GB.
Priced at Rs. 9,999, the Holly 3 is an interesting device in the sub Rs. 10,000 segment but it faces stiff competition from the likes of the excellent Redmi 3S and Coolpad’s offerings.
