Dell Streak hitting AT&T on July 19th?

A few months ago, Dell CEO Michael Dell confirmed that the Dell Streak will be hitting AT&T later this Summer, but Micheal didn’t gave any further information about the release date, but today BGR did. Folks over at BGR heard from their reliable source that the Dell Streak is going to hit AT&T on July 19th. If you guys know one thing that the Samsung Captivate (AT&T Samsung Galaxy S version) is going to hit AT&T on July 18th. Dell Streak is more than a phone, actually it’s not a phone, it’s a MID (mobile internet device). Have a look on the specs of Dell Streak:

  • 5″ TFT capacitive touchscreen
  • 5MP camera and a secondary VGA for video calling
  • Dual LED Flash
  • GPS
  • Bluetooth
  • USB port
  • Wi-Fi-802.11 b/g
  • 16 GB Internal memory
  • Up to 32 GB expandable memory via MicroSD card
  • 3.5 mm headset jack
  • Android OS, v1.6, upgradable to v2.2 (Froyo)

As you can see the phone is running Android 1.6 which is a very old version, but Dell will be launching the Android 2.2 or 2.1 for the Dell Streak soon. That’s the only point in which Captivate is better than Dell Streak, because the Captivate is running Android 2.1, and Samsung will launch the Android 2.2 for all Galaxy S later this year.

Well, tell me which one you choose? Would you choose the Captivate over Dell Streak, or would you choose both over the iPhone 4?
