Microsoft at its Windows 10 event in New York announced an upgraded version of the Surface Book. The newest model of the machine packs a punch with Intel Core i7 processor under the hood.
The latest flagship Surface Book variant also offers 30 percent more battery life, which according to the company is about 16 hours. In comparison, the original model runs for up to 12 hours on a single charge.
Microsoft’s newest Surface Book offering comes with an Intel Core i7 chip and twice the graphics performance from the original model, which is about three times more than that of the highest-end Apple MacBook Pro. Panos Panay, the engineering head also said that the new machines were designed for gamers who wants more frame rate, designers who wants less lag and finally for everyone who wants more battery life.
The top-end Surface Book model can drive 1.9 teraflops of performance and is now equipped with a secondary fan. However, the design language remains unchanged. The beefed up Surface Book model is priced at $2,399 and will be available for pre-ordering from today, but the device starts shipping next month.
