Barnes & Noble has introduced a new NOOK Tablet 7″, its cheapest tablet with dual-band WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n) support in the U.S. It has a 7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) 171 ppi display, runs Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) and has a soft-touch back.
It is powered by a quad-core processor (MediaTek MT8163 likely), has a 5-megapixel auto focus rear camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. No details about the RAM, but it has 8GB of internal storage with microSD expansion slot that accepts cards up to 128GB. It promises up to 7 hours of battery life for reading, watching videos and web browsing.
The NOOK Tablet 7″ is priced at $49.99 (Rs. 3,336 approx.) and will be available at Barnes & Noble stores starting on Black Friday, November 25. It is already available for pre-order. This will take on the new Amazon Kindle Fire tablet that was introduced recently for the same price and features.
