Xiaomi launched the Redmi 3S and Redmi 3S Prime, budget 4G smartphones with metal body in India back in August on Mi.com and Flipkart starting at Rs. 6999. Today Flipkart announced that it has sold over 1 million or 10 lakh units of these phones within 3 months of launch. Xiaomi recently said that it sold more than 2.3 million or 23 lakh units of Redmi Note 3 smartphones in India till September.

Flipkart also said that Redmi 3S and Redmi 3S Prime has been a runway hit with first time buyers and technology enthusiasts alike especially between the age of 18 – 30. Flipkart also said that both the phones received tremendous ratings. Currently both the phones have 4.2/5 stars in the ‘below 12K’ segment in smartphones.
To remind you, both the smartphones have a 5-inch HD screen, are powered by an Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC and run Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) based on MIUI. These have a 5-megapixel camera on the front.
The Redmi 3S has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, while the Redmi 3S prime comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The also have a infrared sensor on the top. Both have a 13-megapixel camera on the back with LED flash and PDAF, but only the Remi 3S has a fingerprint sensor on the back. These have 4G VoLTE support and pack a 4100mAh battery.
