Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 and Snapdragon 660 specifications surface

Qualcomm announced its flagship Snapdragon 835 based on Samsung’s 10nm FinFET process last week. It did not reveal any details apart from support for Quick Charge 4.0 that, which supports 20% faster charging than Quick Charge 3.0. Now some specifications of the Snapdragon 835 along with a new Snapdragon 660 have surfaced in China.

According to the leak, the Snapdragon 835 (MSM8998) will be powered by four smaller Kryo cores and four bigger Kryo cores, but the clock speed is not available. It also reveals that it will have X16 modem that supports Gigabit Class LTE speeds—up to 1 Gbps. It will use UFS 2.1 storage and 4 x LPDDR4 RAM at 1866 MHz.

Coming to Snapdragon 660 (MSM8976Plus), the report says that it could use Kryo cores similar to the Snapdragon 835 or it might actually have quad ARM Cortex A73 CPUs clocked at 2.2GHz and quad ARM Cortex A53 CPUs clocked at 1.9GHz and will be an upgrade to the current Snapdragon 652 and Snapdragon 653 SoCs that have quad ARM Cortex A72 CPUs and quad ARM Cortex A53 CPUs. This is said to come with Adreno 512 GPU, use Samsung’s 14nm process, UFS 2.1 storage and 2 x LPDDR4 RAM at 1866 MHz.

It is rumored to support up to 24MP camera, Cat 10 modem and up to Quad High Definition (2560×1600) displays. It will ship sometime in Q2 2017 and will be used in OPPO and Vivo devices, says the rumor.

Qualcomm already announced that the Snapdragon 835 will be seen in devices sometime in the first half of 2017. The latest rumor says that it will be detailed at the MWC 2017 and will power the Samsung Galaxy S8 that is also expected to come in Exynos 8895 version.
