Xiaomi India today announced that it has sold over 2 million smartphones in the country in the third quarter of 2016 for the first time. This is over 150% growth compared to the same quarter (Q3 2015) last year, said the company. Last week the company said that it had sold 1 million units of Redmi 3S and Redmi 3S Prime smartphones in just 3 months after launch in India on Flipkart.

Xiaomi recently said that it sold more than 2.3 million units of Redmi Note 3 smartphones in India till September. October has also seen hike in sales on major e-commerce sites like Amazon, Flipkart, Snapdeal.
Redmi Note 3 is still one of the best smartphones under Rs. 9999 since it packs a 5.5-inch 1080p screen, fingerprint sensor, 16MP rear camera, 4G VoLTE support, Infrared sensor and a 4000mAh battery. Redmi 3S and Redmi 3S Prime have joined it to become best-selling smartphones in the price range.
A recent IDC report said that Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 3 and newly launched Redmi 3S fueled the online shipments to a large extent last quarter and Xiaomi has 7.4% market share in the country.
