Twitter has started rolling out two new features for its mobile app to make it easier to find popular conversations. The micro blogging mobile site is getting “direct reply counts” and “conversation ranking features.
As the name suggests Twitter will now count the number of replies a tweet has received. This similar to the way you can see the total number of likes and Retweets for any tweet. In addition you can also see how many people are participating in the conversation by the reply count. The number will be seen next to the reply icon indicating how many direct replies the original tweet has received. This number is not the total number of replies in the entire conversation.
Coming to the second feature, Twitter will now rank your conversations. In a bid to show the best content first, replies will now be grouped by sub-conversations. For example, when ranking a reply higher, Twitter will now consider factors such as if the original Tweet author has replied, or if a reply is from someone you follow.
