OnePlus co-founder questions Flipkart over OnePlus 3 sale for a massive discount

Earlier today, Flipkart teased offers and discounts on several products that will be available in its upcoming Big Shopping Days (December 18-21). The homegrown e-tailer is offering a massive discount on the most popular phone of 2016 -OnePlus 3 and is expected to sell it under Rs. 20000 which is a huge price drop from its existing price of Rs. 27,999.

However, Carl Pei, cofounder OnePlus was surprised to see the phone being available for purchase on Flipkart as it is an Amazon India exclusive device. Pei called out Flipkart cofounder Sachin Bansal asking him about the OnePlus 3 sell on his e-commerce platform. Check out Pei’s tweets below.

Following the outrage of OnePlus 3 owners and mobile enthusiasts on Twitter, OnePlus has released an official statement,

OnePlus is focused on creating premium flagship smartphones. We have an exclusive partnership with Amazon in India. We advice customers to purchase OnePlus products only through official channels as we cannot guarantee the authenticity of the products sold elsewhere.

Earlier this month, OnePlus launched OnePlus 3T in India starting at Rs. 29999. The company has discontinued OnePlus 3 in the US and Europe but it is still in stock in India. Checkout out our unboxing of the OnePlus 3T here.
