Samsung could bring Samsung Pay, its digital payments system in India next year, according to a report from SamMobile. The latest report comes at a time when the digital wallets are paving the way for citizens during the current situation of demonetization in India.
Samsung is working on its way to launch Samsung Pay in India. As per the report, the company is testing its mobile payment service for the Indian market, and it could be launched in the first half of 2017. If Samsung brings Samsung Pay to India next year, it will beat Android Pay and Apple Pay as both these services are still not live in the country. The service was launched a few days ago in Malaysia in beta.
Launched in August last year, Samsung Pay comes equipped with Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST) and Near Field Communication (NFC) technologies that lets users makes contactless payments at PoS terminals. Samsung Pay works on all the flagship and mid range devices internationally and that could remain same in case of India.
