Back in August Sony confirmed Android 7.0 (Nougat) update for a range of smartphones, including the Xperia X series, Z5 series and more. Android Nougat update started rolling out for Sony Xperia X Performance and Xperia XZ smartphones last month, now the update is rolling out for Sony Xperia X and Xperia X Compact smartphones.

The update brings new Android 7.0 features such as multi window support, long battery life, improved messaging app, smart home screen, new notification panel and more. Sony has also added new features such as manual shutter speed and ISO controls at the full 23MP resolution. It also adds new self-timer button to the front camera interface.
Finally there is an addition of the STAMINA mode with three new power saving levels to choose from, automatically adjusting the settings to keep you going.
The OTA update is about 1.3GB and is gradually rolling out for users globally.
