Huawei has announced that Honor 8 will receive Android Nougat 7.0 update in February 2017. The phone which has received accolades for its unique design was launched with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.
Along with Android Nougat 7.0, the phone will also get EMUI 5 which comes with a major makeover as it streamlines the user interface and cuts down on the number of steps needed to reach core functions. It will allow people to choose a home screen with or without an app drawer, as well as run multiple profiles and add the ability to easily switch between them. EMUI 5 also adds machine learning to analyze and adapt to user behavior over time. It will offer improved capabilities and flexibility around security with App Lock. Finally, it will also features a more intelligent power management system, with selection of power saving modes so you can manage your device’s battery consumption.
Honor has not yet confirmed a specific date for the rollout of the update.
