WhatsApp for Android beta gets GIF search, media sharing limit raised to 30

WhatsApp has finally added GIF search support for Android beta. The Facebook owned messaging service first added an option to send videos as GIF in August following which it allowed sending of GIFs that are saved on your device. Now, you can will be able to search different types of GIFs right within the app itself. WhatsApp for iOS already has this feature since November last year.

This is similar to the feature which was already present on Telegram. With the latest update, you will now see a GIF icon next to the emoticon icon when you tap the emoji button. You can search for GIFs and insert them right from the app or search GIPHY for a keyword suitable for your chat conversations. It must be noted that not all users are seeing GIFs powered by GIPHY as some users are seeing TENOR GIF search.

In addition to beta, WhatsApp has also increased the media sharing limit to 30 which will be welcomed by users. Prior to the update, you could send only 10 media files on WhatsApp. The latest features are available for WhatsApp for Android bets version 2.17.6 beta and should arrive soon for stable version as well.
