Samsung Exynos 9810 could be Exynos 9, use custom M2 CPU cores

Samsung posted the first teaser for the Exynos 9 last week that will succeed the Exynos 8 and power the flagship Galaxy S8 series. Now details of an intern at the Samsung’s Bangalore R&D Institute reveals that the upcoming Exynos processor could be called Exynos 9810.

According to a new rumor, it could be an Octa-Core processor which is said to feature Mongoose M2 CPU cores, compared to Exynos M1 CPU cores, support up to 4K Ultra HD (4096×2160) display resolution, similar to Exynos 8 Octa 8890.

It is rumored to come in two variants, the Exynos 9810V featuring up to 2.3GHz M2 CPU cores along with eighteen-core Mali-G71 GPU and the Exynos 9810M could feature up to 2.5GHz M2 CPU cores along with and a 20-core Mali-G71 GPU. It is said to come with support for LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.1 storage.

It is expected to come with LTE Cat.16 modem with speeds of up to 1 Gbps down, compared to Cat.12 modem on the predecessor. The Exynos 9 will likely use the 10nm FinFET process (10LPE). The company started mass production of System-on-Chip (SoC) based on the technology last October.
