Soon after inking the deal with HMD global, the Finnish handset maker Nokia made its entry for the first time on the Android platform with Nokia 6, last month in China. At the ongoing MWC 2017, the company announced the very same smartphone for the global market with same specifications. Check out the first hands-on and photo gallery.
The Nokia 6 sports a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) 2.5D curved glass display with 450 nits brightness, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It runs on Android 7.1.1 (Nougat) out of the box.
The rear side of the smartphone houses a 16MP rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, PDAF, 1.0um sensor, f/2.0 aperture. The back side of the phone has Nokia logo (not visible here) and is made of glossy finish (Arte Black Limited Edition) that might attract fingerprints.
The top side of the smartphone has a 3.5mm audio jack and antenna band.
The Nokia 6 is powered by a Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 ( 4 x 1.2 GHz Cortex A53 + 4 x 1.5 GHz Cortex A53) 64-bit processor with Adreno 505 GPU. It is powered by a 3000mAh built-in battery.
On the front top, it houses a 8MP front-facing camera with 1.12um sensor, f/2.0 aperture, and an 84˚ wide-angle lens. It also has a Nokia branding on the right side of the phone.
The Nokia 6 boasts a fingerprint sensor, which sits neatly beneath the home button for extra security purpose. Also present are the back and multi-tasking keys on either side of that sensor.
It has dual speakers, one on the top and other on the bottom, smart dual amplifier chips (TFA9891) offering 6dB louder sound and Dolby Atmos. It has dual SIM support as well as a microSD expansion slot.
Nokia 6 will be available globally in Q2 2017 in Matte Black, Tempered Blue, Silver and Copper colors.
It is priced at 229 Euros (US$ 241 / Rs. 16117 approx.). Additionally, the Nokia 6 also comes in Special Edition in Arte Black color priced at 299 Euros (US$ 315 / Rs. 21,043 approx.).
