Gmail for Android gets support for Exchange Tasks and new app shortcuts

Google has added support for Exchange Tasks on Gmail for Android. The update that bumps the app to version 7.2 will allow users to view, create, or edit tasks in their Exchange account.

You can edit tasks by date or priority and flag an email as a to-do for later response. After you are done with a task, you can flag it off by simply swiping it to mark as complete. The Gmail app on Android is enterprise ready and can be deployed securely, said Google.

According to 9to5Google, the update also adds shortcuts for Gmail app however, you will need devices running Android 7.1 and above to access them. Prior to the update, Gmail only had a single shortcut to compose a new message. Now you get shortcuts for up to three email accounts in addition to the original one. The app shortcuts can be dragged to the homescreen. The order of the accounts is determined by the last three accounts that you interacted with inside the app, added the report.
