Google started rolling out Android 7.1.2 (Nougat) beta update for several Nexus devices and Pixel devices at the end of January. Now a latest report from Android Central says, Google might release Android 7.1.2 Nougat to Nexus and Pixel devices on April 3.
At the time of releasing the beta version, Google said it is an incremental update focusing mostly on bug fixes and performance improvements along with carrier-bound enhancements. VP of Android, Dave Burke had stated in a blog post in January that the public release of Android 7.1.2 would take “a couple of months.”
The latest report cites announcement from Canadian carrier Rogers, who is going to release an update to Pixel phones on April 3 that enables VoLTE. The company was testing that feature on the Android 7.1.2 beta for a couple of months.
It must be noted that Rogers’ announcement just adds a possibility for Google releasing the Android 7.1.2 Nougat update on the same date and nothing is official as of now.
