Google Family Link lets parents control their children’s Android phone

Google has launched a new Family Link app that allows parents to monitor their children’s phone activity. The app lets parents create a Google Account for their children following which they can manage apps their kids use, keep an eye on screen time and set a bedtime on their kid’s device.

The Family Link app will let parents approve or block the apps their kids wants to download from the Google Play Store. They can also see how much time their kid spends on their favorite apps with weekly or monthly activity reports, and set daily screen time limits for their device. Moreover, parents can remotely lock their kid’s device when it’s time to play, study, or sleep.

Currently the Family Link app is in the testing period and parents can request an invite to the Family Link early access program. It is currently available in the U.S. After receiving an invite, parents with kids under 13 years old can download and try the Family Link app.
