Instagram rolled out live video for stories in November. Now, the Facebook owned photo sharing app has added the ability for users to save live videos to their phone after broadcasting it.
Live videos will continue to disappear from the app when you have ended the broadcast. The latest update will add a ‘Save’ button on the upper right corner. You can tap on the button after your live broadcast ends. It must be noted that you can save only your videos and not the comments, likes, number of viewers or any live interactions. After saving, tap Done and your live video will be saved to your camera roll but will no longer be available in the app.
The feature has started rolling out for Instagram apps on Android and iOS. Instagram also says it will bring more features to live videos this year. The photo sharing app is playing catch up with its parent company Facebook and rival Periscope, that already allow users to save live videos.
