By now, most of you would’ve already been able to get a glimpse on just how good the OPPO F3 Plus is at photography. It is out and out a photographer’s sidekick when it comes to capturing the best of moments. However, there are several things that you need to check in detail in order to fully realize the phone’s potential.
Let us start with the rear camera first. The OPPO F3 Plus comes with a high end primary camera at the back. It has 16 Megapixels of resolution with f1.7 aperture and a large 1/2.8″ sensor size. This means that the smartphone is capable of producing some really good quality shots in both good as well as poor lighting conditions. The wider aperture allows more light to enter the camera at any given point of time thus creating a brighter image and one that requires lesser exposure time. As a result, your images are always blur and shake free.
The larger sensor size also means that the camera produces noise-free images even under low light. Coupled with the large aperture, the camera does not require high ISO levels or very long shutter speeds to achieve a well exposed image which would’ve otherwise resulted in an image with high noise and blurring respectively. The camera also has OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) for taking shots without any shakes since the sensor itself moves to compensate for any shakes that are produced by the movement of your hands.
The dynamic range is already pretty good on the OPPO F3 Plus thanks to the larger sensor size and aperture. However, the HDR mode takes things a step further by providing an even more detailed image that preserves information from both the highlights and shadows as well as the midtones.
Phase detection autofocus (PDAF) guarantees a lock on your subject almost instantaneously and the dual-tone LED flash fills in natural looking light for when there is barely any ambient light available. Users can make use of several modes to take advantage of the camera’s hardware such as the double exposure mode, timelapse, 4K video, panorama etc. You also get an expert mode that allows the user to manually adjust the white balance, exposure, ISO, shutter speed and focus. It even has an Ultra HD mode that takes several pictures and stitches them together to get a very high resolution photo that captures an incredible amount of detail.
Now let’s talk about the front facing cameras. Yes, cameras plural since there are two different front facing cameras on the F3 Plus. The first one is a selfie camera for all those solo shots that provide incredible detailing and focuses on your facial features. This 16 Megapixel camera has an aperture of f2.0 and 1/3″ sensor size. Typically most smartphones have specs that are inferior to this even in their rear cameras.
There is also a secondary group selfie camera with a wider field of view and 8 Megapixels of resolution to capture your friends and families in your selfie as well as your surroundings. The front facing cameras capture you flawlessly every time thanks to the Beautify 4.0 feature.
Beautify 4.0 is both available for wide angle camera and selfie camera with seven intelligent beautification filters and two skin-tone modes for bright, clear skin; vivid eyes; and striking features. The dual front cameras also have a Bokeh feature which can blur the background automatically so that you could get selfies with great detail and proper distinction between the subjects and the surroundings.
Oh and did we mention that all the modes such as timelapse, video and panorama are available for the front facing camera as well? Imagine taking a group selfie in panorama mode using the 8 Megapixel wide angle camera. You could easily accomodate a group of 30-40 people in such a selfie with incredible detail.
