Apple introduced special edition (Product) Red iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus versions last month. We managed to get one in Canada and unboxed it recently. Check out the unboxing and also check out the photo gallery of the new Red color variant.
Box contents are same as other color variants of the iPhone 7.
On the front the Red version has a white finish like the Silver, Gold and Rose Gold variants. Black finish like the Matte Black and Jet Black variants would have given it an attractive look.
The bright red color is attractive and has aluminum finish for a premium look. Apple says that the phone has been launched in recognition of more than 10 years of partnership between Apple and (RED). It also said that every purchase contributes to the Global Fund to support HIV/AIDS programs and help deliver an AIDS-free generation.
To remind you, the iPhone 7 has a 4.7-inch (1334 x 750 pixels) IPS Retina HD display with 3D Touch touch, is powered by new Quad-core A10 Fusion 64-bit processor with six-core GPU and M10 motion co-processor and has 2GB of RAM. It has a 7MP front camera and is water and dust resistant with IP67 ratings.
There is a new 12MP camera with f/1.8 aperture, OIS and Quad-LED True Tone flash. It is 7.1 mm thick, weighs 138 grams and packs a 1960mAh battery.
It comes in 128GB and 256GB versions and will be available through Apple Authorised Resellers by the end of this month. It went on sale in several countries, including U.S. on March 24th starting at $749.
New colors of Apple-designed iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus silicone cases in azure, camellia and pebble, and leather cases in taupe, sapphire and berry will also be available at Apple Authorised Resellers starting at Rs. 2,900 later this month.
