Following the debacle of Galaxy Note 7, Samsung launched its flagship smartphones dubbed Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ with much fanfare. The Galaxy S8 competes with other flagships such as LG G6, Apple iPhone 7 Plus, OnePlus 3T, Huawei P10 and more, with more emphasis on the Camera department. In this post, we’ll be examining samples taken by the S8 and these phones to see which one will take the title of best camera-phone.
Before moving on, let us give the camera specifications of the Galaxy S8. The rear is taken care of 12MP Dual Pixel camera with LED Flash, f/1.7 aperture, 1/2.55″ sensor size, OIS, and 1.4µm pixel size. The front side has an 8MP auto focus front-facing camera with f/1.7 aperture, 1/3.6″ sensor size, 1.22µm pixel size, 80-degree wide-angle lens.

Here we compared the Galaxy S8 with its arch rival iPhone 7 Plus and the results are here. Now it’s against Mate 9. The Huawei Mate 9 sports a 20MP (Monochrome) + 12MP (RGB) Dual rear cameras with Leica lenses, f/2.2 aperture, dual-tone LED flash, PDAF, CAF, Laser AF, OIS and 4K video recording. On the front, it has 8MP front-facing camera with a f/1.9 aperture.

Samsung Galaxy S8 vs OnePlus 3T
The OnePlus 3T has a 16MP rear camera with LED flash, Sony IMX298 sensor, 1.12-micron pixel size, f/2.0 aperture, EIS 2.0, PDAF, OIS, 4K video recording at 30 fps, 720p slow motion at 120fps. It also has 16-megapixel front-facing camera with Samsung 3P8SP sensor and 1.0 µm pixel size as well.

The Huawei P10 has a 20MP (Monochrome) + 12MP (RGB) Dual rear cameras with Leica SUMMARIT 27mm lenses, f/2.2 aperture, dual-tone LED flash and under the hood OIS. Moving front, it boasts an 8MP front-facing camera, Leica lens.
