Android 7.1.1 Nougat update starts rolling out for Sony Xperia X Performance and Xperia XZ

Sony rolled out Android 7.0 (Nougat) update for Xperia X Performance and Xperia XZ smartphones back in November last year, today it has started rolling out Android 7.1.1 (Nougat) update for these smartphones.

The Android 7.1 update brings new emoji that reflect the pivotal roles women play in the world, app shortcuts that can be launched directly from home screen in apps like Twitter, Google Messenger, Google Maps by simply long pressing the app icon, but this doesn’t work on  Xperia Home launcher yet. It also brings several bug fixes and improvements.

The Android 7.1.1 update for the Xperia XZ and Xperia X Performance have build number 41.2.A.2.199 and also includes Android security patch  for 1st April 2017. The update is available only in select countries currently and should roll out globally in the coming week.
