Honor 8 Lite Hands On and Photo Gallery

Huawei’s Honor brand introduced Honor 8 Lite, a cheaper version of last year’s flagship Honor 8 smartphone in Finland in February this year following which it was also launched in China. Now, the Honor 8 Lite has been launched in India for Rs. 17,999. We have already seen unboxing of the phone and now let’s take a detailed look at the hardware and specifications of the phone.

Honor 8 Lite takes design cues from the Honor 8 and sports the same sleek and attractive design. It packs a 5.2-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD 2.5D curved glass display. The phone is powered by an Octa-core Kirin 655 processor and comes with 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, expandable memory up to 128GB with microSD.

Running Android 7.0 (Nougat) with EMUI 5.0, the phone has a metal frame running all around it. Up front you have the 8-megapixel front-facing camera along with an earpiece.

Honor branding is present on the bezel below the display. There are three on-screen touch buttons.

The right side houses power button and volume rockers. The phone measures 147.2 x 72.94 x 7.6mm and weighs 147 grams.

There is hybrid dual SIM tray on the left.

A micro USB port is present at the bottom of the phone with loudspeaker grills on both the sides.

The 3.5mm audio jack and microphone is present on the top.

The Honor 8 Lite has a glass back which offers it a premium look. However, the glass is a fingerprint magnet and also slippery.

There is a 12MP rear camera with LED flash at the back.

Also present at the back is a fingerprint sensor which unlike the Honor 8 cannot be used as a physical button.

The Honor branding is also present at the lower back. Connectivity options on the phone include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS. It comes with a 3000mAh built-in battery.

The highlight of the Honor 8 Lite is the recently introduced EMUI 5.0. It will be the first device that will come with EMUI 5.0 out-of- the-box. The EMUI 5.0 update brings one-button navigation, Intuitive Interactions, machine learning and improved security.

The will be available through all Honor partner stores offline across India starting tomorrow, May 12th. It will be available in Premium Black color initially, followed up by blue color later this month. It comes with 15 month service warranty along with Honor’s door pick-up and drop after sale facilities.
