Earlier this week, popular audio company Harman Kardon introduced Cortana powered smart speaker. Now, HP and Intel are joining the bandwagon and have started working on Cortana enabled devices. Microsoft announced at its Build 2017 that HP will work on integrating Cortana into devices, while Intel focus on reference platforms.
Microsoft also launched Cortana Skill Kit in public preview at the Build 2017 conference. This allows developers to create Cortana-powered apps and programs across Android, iOS, Windows 10 and the Invoke. Pricing or any of the specific details about HP and Intel’s Cortana-powered devices are not available yet.
Amazon Echo and Google Home are currently the top players in the IoT market but new Cortana powered speakers could create give some tough competition to these established players.
