Back in April Samsung confirmed that it will sell returned Galaxy Note7 devices outside US as refurbished phones or rental phones where applicable. The refurbished Galaxy Note 7 smartphones with model numbers – SM-N935K, SM-N935L, and SM-N935S got FCC certification last week to be launched in the Korean market.
Now a new report from Korea says that refurbished Galaxy Note7 units dubbed Galaxy Note 7R will be launched in Korea sometime late May or early June through local operators SK Telecom, KT and LG Uplus.
Samsung is said to have removed old battery from the phone that was blamed for the explosions. The new Galaxy Note 7R smartphones are said come with 3,200 mAh battery compared to 3,500 mAh battery on the original Galaxy Note7 and run Android 7.0 (Nougat) put of the box. Other specifications will be same as the original version.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 7R is expected to launch for 700,000 won (U$620 / Rs. 39930 approx.), about 30% cheaper than the launch price of Galaxy Note 7.
