Uber is now making it easier to save your favourite places that you visit frequently. The US based cab hailing service is rolling out a new in-app feature dubbed as Saved Places. As the name suggests, you can now bookmark places other than Home and Work.
Users can now save their friends address, airport and several other places inside the app. Moreover, you can be creative and even use emojis to name these places. For example you can put a coffee mug emoticon for saving cafe or aeroplane emoticon for airport and so on.
After adding a destination, riders should look for the option to save that address in the Uber feed. To access a saved address, tap “Where to?”, and then “more saved places” and select from the list. A rider’s Saved Places will even start to show up on their home screen “shortcuts” if Uber predicts that is where they could be going, based on the frequency of the selection of that location as a destination.
The feature is now available on both Android and iOS platforms in the US region and will be rolled out to other markets later this year. Uber says Saved Spaces will become available internationally later this year.
