Xiaomi had launched Redmi Note 4 in India in January. The successor of Redmi Note 3 was available in Gold and Dark Gray colors initially. However, in February the Matte Black variant of the phone was made available in the country. We have got our hands on the Matte Black variant and so let’s check it out. We have already reviewed the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4.
The Redmi Note 4 sports almost design similar to the Redmi Note 3. It packs a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD 2.5D curved glass display. The Dark Gray variant was also black in the front while the Gold variant was white. The Matte Black variant offers the phone a premium look. The front part of the phone is also black and blends well with the overall Matte Black look.
The phone is powered by a 2GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 625 14nm processor. Running MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow), the phone comes with 2GB / 3GB RAM with 32GB storage (eMMC 5.0) / 4GB RAM with 64GB storage (eMMC 5.0), expandable memory up to 128GB with microSD. It has an earpiece and 5MP front-facing camera at the front.
There is no physical button on the phone and there are three capacitive touch keys that are backlit.
The right hand side of the phone houses the power button as well as a volume rocker placed above it.
The phone measures 151x76x8.45mm and weighs 175g.
There are no buttons at the bottom.
There is a 13MP rear camera at the back followed by a fingerprint sensor. The Matte Black back highlights the camera and fingerprint sensor that have a metal ring around it.
Antenna bands are also present at the top and bottom of the phone.
Connectivity options on the phone include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS + GLONASS. It has 4000mAh battery. The Redmi Note 4 goes on sale exclusively on Flipkart and Mi.com every week.
