Nest Cam IQ has 4K sensor with HDR, face recognition technology and more

Nest Labs, a Google company has introduced new Nest Cam IQ security camera that has been built from the ground up with new features such as improved processing power for face recognition technology to keep track of familiar faces, and even help you spot stranger. It also has a new 4K sensor so you can digitally zoom in up to 12x and enhance the video to a crisp 1080p HD, and still see clearly. It has wide 130° view and Supersight combines staggered 4K images into a well-balanced 1080p HD picture. Then the video is encrypted and its bit rate adaptively adjusted.

“When Nest Cam IQ spots a person, Supersight can automatically zoom in and follow him walking across a room, while still keeping the full 130° picture in view, with close-up tracking,” said Nest.

It has powerful speaker and three-microphone array, along with noise suppression and echo cancellation features. Later this year it will be full-duplex, so you can easily communicate with family and pets like you’re having a conversation over the phone, says Nest.
