Gionee A1 OTA update adds support for Bokeh selfies and 10 Indian languages

Gionee today announced that it has rolled out a new over-the-air (OTA) update for A1 users that adds several new features including Bokeh selfies and support for 10 regional languages. The smartphone was launched in back in March for Rs. 19,999 and runs Android 7.0 (Nougat) with Amigo OS out of the box.

The latest update for Gionee A1 brings

  • Bokeh selfies that lets you add out-of-focus blur in a photograph
  • Adds 10 system regional languages – Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, Malayalam, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu.

Gionee also offers a 3 year subscription of McAfee anti-virus.  To remind you, the Gionee A1 has a 16-megapixel front camera with f/2.0 aperture, 1/3.06″ sensor, selfie flash and face beauty features. It packs a 5.5-inch 1080p 2.5D curved glass display, is powered by an Octa-Core MediaTek Helio P10 processor and has 4GB of RAM.
