OnePlus 3 and 3T OxygenOS beta update brings Ambient display 2.0, Lift up display and more


OnePlus has started rolling out new OxygenOS open betas (Beta 8 for OnePlus 3T and Beta 17 for OnePlus 3) for the 3 and 3T phones that brings several new features including Ambient display 2.0 that brings new implementation of Ambient display, meant to help stop accidental wakes while pulling the phone out of your pocket. Activation of the screen now requires a “double tap” action. Lift up display turns on the screen to peek at notifications when the device is lifted.

Sharing functionality for Shot on OnePlus lets you share the pictures you find in the Shot on OnePlus section in wallpapers OnePlus also says that they have enhanced launching speed of third-party apps. It also includes updates to built-in apps, optimizations and May Android security update.  Check out the complete changelog below.

    • Refined contact import process from SIM card, now supports dual numbers and an email address
    • Automatically add corresponding country codes when making calls during roaming
    • Updated Android Security Patch level to 1st May 2017

The update is 131MB in size for both the 3 and 3T. If you’ve already flashed a previous Open Beta build, you will receive this update via OTA. If you haven’t, you will need to flash this manually by downloading it from downloads.oneplus.net.
