Apple iMacs updated with brighter Retina displays, 7th-generation Kaby Lake processors and more

Apple at the WWDC 2017 updated iMac line with up to powerful graphics, faster 7th-generation Kaby Lake processors, Thunderbolt 3, faster storage options and brighter Retina displays, and added a Retina 4K display and discrete graphics to base $1,299 21.5-inch iMac that offer 500 nits brightness and Wide color (P3).

The updated iMac lineup have faster Kaby Lake processors up to 4.2 GHz with Turbo Boost up to 4.5 GHz and supports 8GB of DDR4 onboard memory. Fusion Drive is now standard on all 27-inch configurations and the top-end 21.5-inch iMac. These also have faster SSD storage option, Four USB 3 ports,  Two Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) ports with support for DisplayPort, Thunderbolt (up to 40 Gbps) and USB 3.1 Gen 2 (up to 10 Gbps), WiFi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.2.

The 27-inch Retina 5K iMac has (5120 x 2880 pixels), 500 nits brightness
Wide color (P3) and similar specifications as the other iMacs. All these come with Magic Trackpad 2 and Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad.

Apple also updated 13-inch MacBook Air with a 1.8GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor.

  • 21.5-inch iMac with Full HD display, 2.3GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor with Intel Iris Plus Graphics 640, 8GB 2133MHz RAM and 1TB hard drive – $1,099 (Rs. 70,717 approx.)
  • 21.5-inch iMac with Retina 4K Display, 3.0GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 processor with 2GB Radeon Pro 555 graphics, 8GB 2400MHz RAM and 1TB hard drive – $1,299 (Rs. 83,590 approx.)
  • 21.5-inch iMac with Retina 4K Display, 3.4GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 processor with 4GB Radeon Pro 560 graphics, 8GB 2400MHz RAM and 1TB Fusion drive – $1,499 (Rs. 96,440 approx.)
  • 27-inch iMac with Retina 5K Display, 3.4GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 processor with 4GB Radeon Pro 570 graphics, 8GB 2400MHz RAM and 1TB Fusion drive – $1,799 (Rs. 1,15,755 approx.)
  • 27-inch iMac with Retina 5K Display, 3.5GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 processor with 4GB Radeon Pro 575 graphics, 8GB 2400MHz RAM and 1TB Fusion drive – $1,999 (Rs. 1,28,630 approx.)
  • 27-inch iMac with Retina 5K Display, 3.8GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 processor with 8GB Radeon Pro 580 graphics, 8GB 2400MHz RAM and 2TB Fusion drive – $2,299 (Rs. 1,47,935 approx.)
  • 13-inch MacBook Air with a 1.8GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB 1600MHz LPDDR3 RAM, 128GB Storage – $999 (Rs. 64270 approx.)
  • 13-inch MacBook Air with a 1.8GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB 1600MHz LPDDR3 RAM, 256GB Storage – $1,199 (Rs. 77138 approx.)

These are available to order online from today and will be available through Apple Stores starting on June 7th.
