OnePlus 5 will go on sale in India exclusively on Amazon on June 22, will come with 8GB RAM

Earlier today OnePlus announced that it will launch its flagship OnePlus 5 smartphone in India on June 22nd at 2PM, two days after the global online unveiling on June 20th. Now Amazon India has announced that it will be exclusively available with them and will be available for purchase on the launch day itself from 4 30PM on Amazon.in.

Last year’s OnePlus 3 went on sale in India, a day after the global announcement, but the OnePlus 3T that was introduced in November last year was launched in December in India and went on sale in the country only on December 15th.

The first press render of the OnePlus 5 surfaced a few hours back showing off the smartphone in black color with dual rear cameras, LED flash and a secondary microphone. It has a 2.5D curved glass screen and a large front camera sensor.

OnePlus already confirmed that the smartphone will be powered by Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform.  OnePlus  has teamed up with DxO, a photography benchmark to enhance the camera on the OnePlus 5. According to earlier rumors, the smartphone is said to feature fingerprint sensor on the front, similar to the OnePlus 3 and 3T, up to 8GB of RAM and Android 7.1 Nougat. The CEO also teased recently that it will be the thinnest flagship.

The OnePlus 5 India launch event takes place at The National Sports Club of India (NSCI) Dome in Worli, Mumbai and starts at 2PM. We should know all the details of the OnePlus 5 including the specifications and the price for India in a couple of weeks.

Update: Source code on the Amazon.in page (via @evleaks) confirms 8GB of RAM for the smartphone.
