LG Display introduced 18-inch flexible OLED panel with 30 radius of curvature that is rollable, along with a 55-inch transparent OLED panel with 40 percent transparency last year, after introducing a 18-inch transparent OLED panel in 2014. Now it has introduced a 77-inch flexible and transparent OLED display.
This is the world’s first and largest flexible and transparent OLED display with a Ultra HD (UHD) resolution of 3840×2160 with 40% transparency and 80 radius of curvature. LG says that it can rolled up to a radius of 80mm without affecting the function of the display. It also said that the achievement has exceeded the original target of 60 inches or more and the radius of curvature of 100 mm.
LG Display said that it has consistently advanced the fundamental technologies that enable large-sized flexible and transparent OLED displays in collaboration with the Korean government, which sees OLEDs as the future display technology.
