HTC Desire 10 Pro explodes in woman’s hand causing burnt fingers

Last year we saw Samsung’s Galaxy Note7 smartphones exploding due to battery heating issues. The company had to kill the device altogether after the fiasco. Now, a new incident about smartphone explosion as surfaced online. This time it is not a Samsung phone but a device by Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC.

Nidhi Kumar, a resident of Delhi announced on Facebook and Twitter that her HTC Desire 10 Pro exploded on June 21st causing burnt fingers. In addition to the burns, she also got an eye infection from the explosion. She says in the post that the phone exploded when it was neither put on charging nor when she was on an ongoing call. Nidhi further complained that HTC has not responded to her post even after a week.

Nidhi said in a Facebook post,

I am not able to work and even do properly day to day activities. I demand some answers for this. It could have been worst if the phone would hv exploded in any kind of transportation and it would have been easy to declare me a terrorist. I want this issue to be resolved and demand to take this situation very seriously.

HTC had launched the Desire 10 Pro in India in November last year.
