Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) launched MySpeed app to measure and upload internet speeds and also launched Analytics Portal to show users in detail about network coverage, data speed in their area and Quality of Service (QoS) of their telecom operators last year. The latest data on the portal shows that Reliance Jio’s 4G data speed is the fastest among top operators in the country.
TRAI data shows that Reliance Jio tops the download speed with a speed of 18.8 Mbps, followed by Vodafone at 12.29 Mbps, Idea at 11.68 Mbps and Airtel comes at last with download speed of 8.23 Mbps. Reliance Jio’s download speed has reduced a bit compared to the previous month, but it is still at the top, reveals the data.
Even though Jio tops the charts in download speeds, Idea continues to top the charts with upload speed of 7.55Mbps, followed by Vodafone at 6.94Mbps and Jio at 5.0Mbps.
TRAI says that the results represent the average of the data speed samples collected from various consumers of the TSPs on a crowd sourcing basis during speed test initiated by them.
When it comes to 3G, Vodafone topped the charts with download speed of 5.65Mbps followed by Idea at 3.59Mbps, Airtel at 3.37Mbps, Aircel at 2.36Mbps and BSNL came at last with download speed of 1.59Mbps, shows TRAI data.
Back in October last year Jio was slowest among the top 4G operators based on the same TRAI MySpeed data. How good is Jio in your location?
