Google Backup and Sync desktop app launched for Mac and Windows

Google has released Backup and Sync desktop app launched for Mac and Windows, as promised last month. The new tool replaces the existing Google Photos desktop uploader and Drive for your PC.

The Backup and Sync desktop app will backs up files and photos in Google Drive and Google Photos. You will just have to select the folders you want to sync and Google will do the rest. Using Backup and Sync is slightly limited by the 15GB cap offered with free Drive accounts. The tool can also be used to backup photos from USB-connected devices, like cameras, as well as SD cards. Google says Backup and Sync is primarily intended for consumer users however, it says that business users should stick with the existing Drive app for now.
