Samsung Pay to get Paypal payment support starting from the US

Samsung has tied up with PayPal to add PayPal as a payment method in Samsung Pay – in-app, online and in-store.  Additionally, Samsung Pay will be available via Braintree Direct, allowing merchants to accept Samsung Pay as a payment method.

You can simply add PayPal account to Samsung Pay, and can then spend the balance anywhere Samsung Pay is accepted. You also get benefits such as gift cards, membership and loyalty cards.

PayPal said that last year alone it processed $102 billion in mobile payment volume and two billion mobile payment transactions. “This partnership will give our customers the ability to pay with mobile almost anywhere consumers can swipe or tap a credit card, as Samsung Pay works in almost any in-store POS location in the U.S,” it added.

Back in 2014, Samsung Galaxy S5 got Paypal mobile payments with just a fingerprint. The following year, PayPal was added as a payment method within Samsung Smart TVs.

PayPal will soon be available for all Samsung Pay users in the United States and will expand to other countries soon.
