Huawei Mate 10 will come with full-screen display, confirms CEO

Huawei yesterday announced its shipped 73 million smartphones during the first six months of the year, up 21% YoY. Richard Yu, head of Huawei’s consumer division said that the company has shipped more than six million P10  since the launch. In an interview with Bloomberg, he said that the phone will be an even more powerful product compared to the predecessor.

He also said that the phone will have a full-screen display, support for fast charge, better cameras and more feature to compete with Apple’s iPhone 8. He said that the company plans to exit entry-level smartphone segment due to low profits and focus on mid-range and high-end devices.

“We are giving up the very low-end devices because the margin in this is extremely low, and it’s not making enough profit for us,” he said in the interview.

Huawei’s recent flagship devices have Leica lenses, so the Mate 10 is also expected to come with it and we can expect dual rear cameras. The phone is expected to be announced at the IFA 2017 in Berlin in September.
