SHARP has announced that it will introduce AQUOS S2 with bezel-less screen at a global event in Beijing on August 8, which will go on sale in China on August 14. It will come with a 5.5-inch display with a screen-to-body ratio of 84.95%, and the company says that it will be as compact as a 5-inch phone.
It has used FFD (Free Form Display) technology to make small holes precisely in the screen for front camera and receiver that promises the best audio quality and front camera experience. The company said that it will continuously explore in the field of 100% bezel less screen phone and aim to achieve technology breakthroughs in screen and anti-dropping technologies.
According to earlier benchmark listings and the leaked press render, the phone is said to come with a 5.5-inch (2048×1080 pixels) display, 12-megapixel dual rear cameras, 8-megapixel front camera, powered by Snapdragon 630 / 660 with 4GB or 6GB RAM depending on the model and run Android 7.1.1 (Nougat). It is also said to come with under-glass fingerprint sensor.
SHARP said that it is the 29th full screen smartphone from the company, and its first full screen smartphone to launch in China. The SHARP AQUOS S2 event on August 8th starts at 2PM China Time (11:30 AM IST). We should know all the details about the phone next Tuesday.
