FacInstagram is testing a new way that will let you add your friend during a live stream. The live video will be visible in split screen once you have added another person.
To add a guest while you are broadcasting, you will have to tap the new icon on the bottom right and tap “Add” to invite anyone who’s currently watching. Once they join, the screen will split into two and your friend will be seen right below you. Currently, it looks like you will be able to add only one person to the live stream and it is not known whether Instagram will let you add multiple guests. Your viewers can still like and comment as they follow along. You can remove your guest and add someone else at any time, or they can also choose to exit on their own. Share your live video to stories when your broadcast has ended, or choose “Discard” and your live video will disappear from the app as usual.
Live video broadcasting has been an important feature with social mediums like Facebook, YouTube and Periscope. Instagram says the feature is being tested by a small number of users and will roll out globally “in the next few months.”
