Google Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 with Snapdragon 836 expected to be announced on October 5

Last year Google unveiled its Pixel smartphones on October 4th. This year it will unveil the second-generation Pixel phones powered by Snapdragon 836 on October 5th, according to @evleaks. Live images and earlier leaks of the phones already confirmed no 3.5mm headphone jack, front-facing stereo speakers, always-on display, squeezable frame, fingerprint sensor on the back and single rear camera for the phones.

The Pixel 2 is said to come with a 4.97-inch 1080p OLED display and the Pixel XL 2 is expected to come with a 5.99-inch Quad HD OLED display. A recent FCC filing revealed that the Pixel 2 will be made by HTC, come with Active Edge squeeze interaction, 64GB internal storage and run on Android 8.0.1. The Pixel XL 2 will be made by LG and is expected to come with 128GB storage.

We can expect Google to send invites for the event sometime in mid-September. We can expect press shots and complete specifications of the phones to leak in the coming weeks.
