Amazon has teamed up with Turner India to showcase Cartoon Network’s popular shows on Prime Video. This content licensing deal will see Cartoon Network’s Ben 10 (Classic), Ben 10: Alien Force, Ben 10: Ultimate Alien, Ben 10 Omniverse, Grim Adventures of Billy Mandy, Johnny Bravo, Powerpuff Girls (Classic), Kumbh Karan, Roll No. 21 and Dexter’s Laboratory and many more shows that will play on Amazon Prime Video under the Kids and Family TV section.
Amazon says kids are consuming and engaging with their favourite content across diverse screens such as computers and mobile screens. This is increasing with the emergence of new OTT platforms and the rise in use of apps for games as an entertainment and learning activity.
Last year, Amazon had signed a deal with filmmaker SS Rajamouli, Graphic India and Arka Mediaworks for a multi-episode animated series titled – Baahubali: The Lost Legends based on the popular movie Baahubali, that premiered on Prime Video India this year. Amazon has already signed a video licensing deal with Dharma Productions and also said that it will be exclusive subscription streaming partner for future film titles from T-Series.
Amazon launched Prime video streaming service last year in December. It competes with Netflix that forayed into Indian market at the beginning of 2016.
