Google Assistant expands to third party speakers and appliances

Google is expanding Google Assistant support to new speakers and appliances. The AI-powered Assistant which works with Google Home will now be available on three speakers –  Zolo Mojo by Anker, TicHome Mini by Mobvoi and the GA10 by Panasonic. All the three speakers will be out by the end of this year.

Google said it will add more speakers to the list soon. Similar to Google Home, users will be able to ask questions or give commands to these speakers by saying “Ok Google”.  The Google Assistant features speech recognition, natural language processing and can even answer “tough” contextual questions.

In addition to three speakers, Google has also announced an integration with LG’s line of home appliances including washers, dryers, and vacuum. Google said that the Assistant already supports more than 70 home automation manufacturers, including Honeywell, Netatmo, TP-Link and Wemo. Just yesterday, Microsoft and Amazon partnered to integrate Alexa and Cortana digital assistants.
