Sony Xperia XZ1 Hands On and Photo Gallery

Sony unveiled the Xperia XZ1, the company’s latest flagship smartphone at the IFA 2017 in Berlin. We are live at the event and got out hands on the phone so let’s take a detailed look at the design and specifications of the phone.

The Xperia XZ1 sports a 5.2-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) HDR TRILUMINOS Display with X-Reality and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It has large bezels on top and the bottom while the side bezels are also not that slim. The phone is powered by octa-Core Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform and is the first Android 8.0 Oreo device.

Up front, you can see 13MP front-facing camera, earpiece with Sony branding.

There are onscreen touch buttons and stereo speaker at the bottom. The phone measures 156 x 77 x 7.9 mm and weighs 155 grams.

Right side houses the power button that is baked with a fingerprint sensor, volume rockers and a new antenna band design.

Also present at the end is a dedicated camera shutter button.

The left side has SIM and microSD card tray along with antenna band. It comes with 4GB RAM, 64GB internal memory, expandable memory up to 256GB with microSD card.

Moving at the back, there is a 19MP rear camera with Exmos RS sensor, 1/2.3″ sensor, f/2.0 lens, Predictive capture, 4K video recording and 960fps slow-motion video.

The Xperia branding is present at the center. It is water resistant (IP65/IP68).

Connectivity options on the phone include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz / 5GHz) MIMO, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/ GLONASS, NFC, USB 3.1 Type-C. It has 2700mAh battery with Qnovo Adaptive Charging.

The Sony Xperia XZ1 comes in Moonlit Blue, Venus Pink, Warm Silver, and Black colors and will roll out globally starting from September 2017.
