Samsung unveiled Gear Sport smartwatch at IFA 2017. We are live at the event and got our hands on the watch.
The Gear Sport packs a 1.2-inch (360×360 pixels) Circular Super AMOLED Always On display, 302ppi, Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It is powered by a 1GHz Dual-Core processor and comes with 768MB RAM, 4GB internal memory. The watch runs Samsung’s own Tizen OS and is compatible with Android phones running Android 4.4 or later iPhone 7, 7 Plus, 6S, 6s Plus, SE, 5 with iOS 9.0 or later.
It has a round dial around the display that lets you navigate through the menu.
There are two buttons on the side that also help in easier navigation.
The watch measures 42.9 x 44.6 x 11.6mm and weighs 50g (without band). It is 5 ATM certified for water resistance in up to 50-meters of water water resistance and is also MIL-STD-810G certified for durability.
The heart rate sensor is present at the bottom.
Connectivity options on the watch include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/GLONASS/Beidou, NFC. It packs a 300mAh Li-ion battery with wireless charging.
The Samsung Gear Sport comes in Black and Blue colors. It is said to be priced 349.99 Euros (US$ 417 / Rs. 26,700 approx.) when it goes on sale in Europe in October.
