HMD Global introduced Nokia 6 smartphone earlier this year running Android 7.0 (Nougat), later it got Android 7.1.1 (Nougat) update back in April, and it was launched in India with the same version of the OS. Now it has finally started rolling out Android 7.1.2 (Nougat) update in some regions.
The update also includes October 2017 Android security patch, improves system stability and UI enhancements. Some users are reporting snappier performance after the update.
HMD Global already confirmed Android 8.0 (Oreo) update for all its latest Android smartphones. Even though it first said that it would not unlock bootloaders of the Android phones, it later confirmed that it would unlock bootloader, one phone at a time.
The Nokia 6 Android 7.1.2 over-the-air (OTA) update for the TA-1021 model is 664.5MB in size and is gradually rolling out in several countries including Sri Lanka, Netherlands and more. The update is expected roll out in India soon. Other Nokia smartphones should get the update soon.
