HTC schedules an event on November 2nd, U11 Plus and U11 Life expected

HTC has started sending out media invites for an event scheduled on November 2nd in Taiwan. The teaser image posted by the company reads “U” giving away more reasons to believe that HTC might be launching the much-rumored U11 Play and U11 Life.

As per rumors and reported that surfaced on the internet for quite some time now, HTC is working on bringing out two products; the U11 Plus which is a variant of the HTC U11 with improved hardware and modules. Another model is the U11 Life with pure Android experience, and if rumors are to be believed, the U11 life is expected to be a part of the Google’s Android-One program, and detailed specifications of the device had leaked earlier.

The U11 Life will pack a 5.2-inches Full HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) display and powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 14nm Mobile Platform which is clocked at 2.2GHz Octa-Core processor with Adreno 508 GPU. There is 3GB RAM, 32GB storage, and another variant with an extra gig of RAM; 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, both these models are further expandable via microSD card. A 2600mAh battery fuels the phone.

It is expected to be the first HTC phone to run on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box making us believe that it indeed might be an Android One version. The camera department gets a 16MP camera both on the rear and on the front. The home button is embedded with a Fingerprint sensor, and the device is water resistant rated at IP67. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, and GPS + GLONASS.

While the U11 Life is a mid-range device, the U11 Plus is a high-end model which is expected to feature a massive 6-inches 18:9 Quad HD (1440×2880 pixels) display making it the first HTC phone to pack a bezel-less design. As it is flagship variant, it’s only fair to expect a Snapdragon 835 chipset, 12MP rear camera, 6GB RAM, 128GB storage, IP68 certification for water and dust resistance.

All these are a part of leaks and rumors that surfaced over the past few weeks, so, it is for the best if we consider them with a pinch of salt. The HTC event takes place in Taiwan on November 2nd.
